Keep up the great work!

  2. I saw that all four of the poems in my group tended to veer on the side of depressing tones or those that take the speaker through tough time(s). And I found it interesting to compare and contrast their endings. One differed by ending in a realization about themself and their life (Margaret Atwood), and then another by doing just the opposite by leaving the speaker alone, helpless, and empty (Rainer Maria Rilke). Meanwhile, two others ended their poems by flipping the tone (from happy/beautiful to sad at the end - Robert Frost, or from harsh/tough to triumphant at the end - Nikki Giovanni).

  3. Both my poet, Czeslaw Milosz and Ryan's poet, Robert Lowell we're largely influenced by world war 2. Not only does it make me wonder how many people we're affected but it also makes me wonder about how traumatic it was for such people. It makes me ponder because I wasn't alive to experience- it and I don't know how imagine it or describe such a period of history and the kind of stain it leaves on people's soul.
